- Stand straight with a barbell in an overhand (palms above the bar) shoulder-width grip, arms along your body, knees slightly bent.
- While maintaining your body in a stationary position, raise the barbell in front of you while keeping your arms straight. The barbell should not go higher than the level of your shoulders.
- Slowly lower your arms towards your body, but don't let the barbell touch you (to keep the muscles contracted during the set).
